Central de Abasto and Gustavo A. Madero partner on food supply technology

The Central de Abasto (CEDA) and the Gustavo A. Madero borough in Mexico City have signed a collaboration agreement to strengthen public markets and improve product distribution. The initiative, titled ‘Mega Mercados Eficientes y Gestión de Abasto’, aims to reduce the number of intermediaries through the implementation of a new technological platform designed to optimize the supply chain.

By utilizing digital tools to lower operational costs and streamline logistics, the strategy seeks to make basic food basket products more affordable for local families. CEDA General Coordinator Mónica Pacheco and Mayor JeanCarlo Lozano stated that the program intends to strengthen the link between the capital’s main wholesale center and local commerce within the borough, supporting the broader social welfare policies of the Mexico City government.
