Central Elections Commission prepares for Gaza and West Bank elections

The Central Elections Commission has announced its preparations for upcoming legislative elections, ensuring that processes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank proceed simultaneously under unified laws and procedures.

To support this, the Commission has implemented training programs for electoral district trainers and staff. In Gaza, 36 employees received specialized training, while 45 trainers were trained in the West Bank. The Commission has also reopened three offices in Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, and Khan Younis to facilitate field operations and voter awareness campaigns.

The nomination phase is scheduled to begin on September 26 and will last for 12 days. Candidates must submit applications as electoral lists rather than individuals. Applications from Gaza will be transferred to the headquarters in Ramallah for centralized review.

To accommodate displaced citizens in Gaza, voters will be able to cast ballots at the nearest polling station using their national ID, regardless of their original town. A technical mechanism will be used to prevent duplicate voting by immediately striking the voter's ID number from the registry once a vote is cast.
