Central European security concerns rise over political rhetoric and Russian influence

While some media reports suggested Fico questioned the validity of the article, analysts note he specifically distinguished between a real armed attack on a member state and a conflict potentially provoked by 'war hawks' within the Alliance using a 'made-up pretext'.

In the Czech Republic, President Petr Pavel has emphasized that prioritizing Russian interests over national interests does not constitute patriotism. Concerns have been raised regarding Czech politicians, such as Jindřich Rajchl, who have engaged with figures associated with Russian propaganda. These developments occur as the Czech Security Information Service (BIS) warns of ongoing Russian hybrid operations targeting European Union member states, including the Czech Republic.
