Central European travelers face roadworks and rising highway tolls
Travelers in Central Europe face upcoming changes due to roadworks and increased highway costs. In the Czech Republic, the Liberec Region is starting new stages of road reconstruction near Nový Bor and Českolipsko. These works include closures on road III/2622 between Dolní Pihel and Písečná, and road II/263 between Horní Police and Valteřice. These closures will impact bus lines 455 and 290, requiring detours and special connections for residents.
In Poland, toll prices on the A2 motorway between Nowy Tomyśl and Konin will increase on September 11. This marks the second price hike this year by the operator Autostrada Wielkopolska, which cites rising maintenance and modernization costs. The increase affects drivers traveling toward the Baltic Sea or Germany, with passenger car fees rising to 41 PLN (approximately 9.5 EUR) per section.
