A coordinated investigation by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the DEA, ATF and Homeland Security Investigations led to the arrest of nine members of a cocaine trafficking organization operating in Central Florida. The suspects, including alleged leader Michael Hernandez Maldonado, were charged with cocaine trafficking, money laundering and firearms offenses.

Authorities seized about 40 kilograms of cocaine, roughly $1.13 million in cash and a cache of firearms. The operation, which began in August 2025, uncovered that the group received the cocaine shipments by mail from Puerto Rico and distributed them throughout Central Florida.
