Central Florida faces extreme heat advisory near Walt Disney World

A heat advisory is in effect for Central Florida, including Orange and Osceola counties, where heat index values are expected to reach between 108 and 112 degrees. The advisory is active from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., impacting areas such as Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort.

The National Weather Service has projected “extreme” heat risk temperatures between 95 and 96 degrees through Sunday for the Greater Orlando area. This extreme classification indicates a pattern of long-duration heat with “no overnight relief,” meaning temperatures do not drop sufficiently at night to allow the body to recover.

Health officials and weather services advise residents and visitors to stay hydrated, take frequent air-conditioned breaks, and monitor for signs of heat-related illness. Visitors to local attractions are also cautioned to prepare for potential afternoon thunderstorms and rapid weather changes.
