Central Florida organizations launch major back-to-school supply drives

Major organizations in Central Florida are conducting large-scale initiatives to provide school supplies for students and teachers ahead of the new academic year.

AdventHealth’s ‘Backpack for Kids’ initiative distributed over 600 backpacks to team members in need and donated more than 2,450 backpacks and supplies to various schools and community partners. These efforts included supporting organizations such as Tools 4 Seminole Schools, the Osceola Education Foundation, and the Boys & Girls Club, as well as providing free school physicals through Osceola County Schools.

Walt Disney World cast members collected more than 155,000 school supplies through their annual Back-to-School Supply Drive in partnership with A Gift For Teaching. This contribution brings Disney’s total donations through this specific drive to over 1 million items over the last decade. The supplies are intended to support classrooms and students across Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, and Polk counties.
