Central Florida weather: Strong winds and showers expected
Central Florida is experiencing significant wind and water activity due to high pressure in the eastern states and an offshore low. Northeast winds are sustained at 20–25 mph, with gusts reaching between 30 and 40 mph, prompting a Wind Advisory along the coast.
Scattered, fast-moving showers are expected across the region, with rain chances peaking at 50–60% along the coast and 30–40% in interior areas. While individual showers move quickly, repeated bands may cause localized heavy downpours. Conditions are expected to dry out midweek as drier air moves into the peninsula.
Temperatures in the Orlando metro area are forecast to reach the lower 80s, while coastal towns will see highs in the upper 70s to 80°F. Marine conditions remain hazardous, with a Gale Warning in effect as seas reach 8–11 feet nearshore and up to 14 feet offshore in the Gulf Stream. A High Surf Advisory and Coastal Flood Warning also remain active through Monday.
