Central Greece municipalities seek legal aid to protect water rights

The Regional Union of Municipalities of Central Greece has decided to provide legal support to local municipalities to ensure they retain their authority over water resource management. This decision follows concerns regarding a bill from the Ministry of Environment and Energy that could expand the powers of major water and sewage companies.

The move aims to protect the public and social character of water and maintain the administrative rights of local authorities. The Union plans to collaborate with a specialized legal firm to represent the interests of the municipalities and work alongside the EDEYA to coordinate actions regarding the management of water resources.
