Central Greece allocates funds for roadworks and hospital upgrades

The Region of Central Greece has announced significant funding allocations for infrastructure and healthcare improvements within the region.

A project totaling 2.85 million euros has been contracted for the maintenance and upgrading of the national and provincial road network in Phocis. The works include asphalt repairs, drainage construction, road marking, safety barrier installation, and lighting maintenance. Specific interventions will target various provincial roads and national highways, including the Itea–Antirrio highway and the Amfissa–Delphi road. Additionally, modern autonomous LED photovoltaic lighting systems will be installed at the Delphi junction.

In the healthcare sector, approximately 1.86 million euros has been allocated to the Livadeia General Hospital for the procurement of advanced medical technology. This funding, part of the ‘Central Greece 2021-2027’ program, will provide the hospital with a 1.5 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner, a digital mammography machine with tomosynthesis, and an 8 STU sterilization oven. These upgrades aim to enhance diagnostic capabilities in Boeotia and reduce the need for patient transfers to other facilities.
