Central Greece initiates dialogue on 2028-2034 CAP
The Region of Central Greece is launching a public dialogue to gather input on the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for the 2028-2034 period. An information evening is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Lamia.
The initiative aims to create a communication channel with primary sector stakeholders, including farmers, livestock breeders, beekeepers, aquaculture producers, cooperatives, and processors. The goal is to ensure that the specific needs and challenges of the Central Greece region—such as rising production costs and climate change pressures—are reflected in national planning.
Discussions will focus on the directions of the new CAP, changes to direct agricultural subsidies, rural development interventions, and opportunities to enhance competitiveness and sustainability. Stakeholders can also submit proposals and observations via online consultation forms covering specific sectors like olive growing, irrigated agriculture, and food processing. The collected feedback will be used to formulate official positions for consultations with the Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
