Central Greece to fund childcare and disability services for 5,750 children

Fanis Spanos, the Governor of Central Greece, has signed a decision to integrate a new initiative into the ‘STEREA ELLADA 2021-2027’ program. The project aims to promote and support preschool education and provide creative engagement services for children, adolescents, and individuals with disabilities in the region.

The program, scheduled to run from September 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, will benefit approximately 5,750 children and their families. It includes childcare positions for infants and preschoolers, integrated care for children with disabilities, and creative engagement services for children aged 5 to 12, including those with motor or sensory impairments.

Additionally, the initiative provides care for children, adolescents, and individuals with various physical, intellectual, developmental, or sensory disabilities through specialized centers. The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund, with the co-financed public expenditure for EU support amounting to 1,947,414 euros.
