Central Java authorities launch mobile passport services for Hajj pilgrims
Immigration authorities in Central Java, Indonesia, are implementing mobile services to facilitate passport processing for prospective Hajj pilgrims, particularly to assist elderly and disabled individuals.
In Madiun, the Class II Non-TPI Immigration Office has launched a “jemput bola” (mobile service) initiative covering Madiun Regency, Madiun City, Ngawi, and Magetan. This program aims to reach elderly pilgrims who may struggle to travel to the main office. Following the mobile visits, a dedicated booth has been established at the Madiun Immigration Office specifically for Hajj pilgrims to ensure streamlined processing.
Similarly, in Batang, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) is providing the “Izzi Paspor” mobile service. This allows pilgrims in Batang to process their passports locally rather than traveling to the Pemalang Immigration Office. Of the 884 registered pilgrims in the area, 664 have already utilized this service. The process includes on-site bank officers to handle the Rp650,000 fee for a five-year passport, simplifying the administrative requirements for the community.
