Central Java Governor addresses pesantren search and wage discussions
Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has addressed two distinct regional issues. Regarding the search of the Hamalatul Quran Islamic boarding school in Sukoharjo following a pork noodle stall arson case, Luthfi expressed a desire for a swift resolution. He urged citizens to avoid unverified information to prevent horizontal conflict and maintain regional stability. The provincial government has deployed psychological assistance teams from the DP3AKB to support dozens of students identified as needing attention during the investigation.
Separately, Luthfi held a dialogue with labor unions and business owners in Semarang to gather input for the 2027 Provincial and Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMP and UMK) determinations. The Governor emphasized that economic growth is closely linked to conducive industrial relations. He requested formal input from regional labor groups to assist the wage council in its upcoming deliberations while awaiting central government regulations.
