Central Java implements development programs to tackle poverty and boost growth

The Central Java Provincial Government has introduced its ‘Trisula Pembangunan’ (Three Prongs of Development) concept, which focuses on improving human resource quality, accelerating economic growth, and reducing poverty. During a presentation at the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Governor Ahmad Luthfi reported that Central Java’s economic growth in the first half of 2026 reached 5.80 percent, surpassing the national average of 5.45 percent.

Key initiatives include the ‘Speling’ (Specialist Doctor on the Move) program, which has conducted over 1,600 mobile health services across 1,466 villages to reach more than 128,000 people. Additionally, the province is leveraging investment to drive job creation, with realized investment reaching Rp59.94 trillion in the first half of 2026.

To bolster these efforts, the provincial government is collaborating with six State Islamic Universities (UIN) in the region. This partnership aims to address extreme poverty through thematic community service programs, vocational education, and halal certification support to enhance local MSMEs and tourism.
