Central Java implements digital social protection for 322,000 households

The Central Java Provincial Government has registered 322,117 households into a digital social protection system. This initiative aims to ensure that social assistance reaches the intended recipients through more accurate identification and real-time data verification.

To support registration and verification, the province has deployed 5,994 social protection agents, with 3,360 currently active. During a meeting led by National Economic Council Chairman Luhut B Pandjaitan, Governor Ahmad Luthfi expressed full support for the digitalization of social aid but emphasized the necessity of strong field assistance.

Luthfi noted that because many beneficiaries belong to the most vulnerable economic groups, success depends on the involvement of local government, police, and community health workers. The digital system is intended to resolve long-standing issues regarding outdated recipient data by allowing for real-time updates and more precise targeting of aid.
