Central Java implements mobile specialist doctor program

The Central Java Provincial Government has implemented the ‘Speling’ (Mobile Specialist Doctor) program to improve healthcare access for residents in remote areas. The initiative brings various medical specialists directly to village halls to provide free examinations, consultations, and treatments.

In Wonosobo Regency, the program has assisted residents like Retno, who previously struggled to access neurological care for her child due to the 36-kilometer distance to the nearest hospital and lack of transportation. Similarly, in Kendal Regency, the program has provided relief to long-term patients, such as those managing chronic conditions like diabetes, who previously faced high costs and logistical barriers to routine medical check-ups.
