Central Java officials focus on poverty reduction and worker protections

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has inaugurated Mahanni Yulindha Pratiwi as the Vice Regent of Klaten for the 2025–2030 term. During the ceremony in Semarang, the Governor emphasized the need for strong leadership synergy between the Vice Regent and Regent Hamenang Wajar Ismoyo to address regional challenges.

Klaten faces specific economic hurdles, with a poverty rate of 11% and an economic growth rate of 4.62%, both of which currently trail the Central Java provincial averages. The Governor highlighted that reducing poverty is a primary indicator of successful regional development.

In a separate development, Central Java has been named one of ten provincial nominees for the 2026 Jamsostek Award. Vice Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen presented the province's efforts to expand social security coverage to informal workers and vulnerable groups, such as providing BPJS Ketenagakerjaan insurance for religious educators through incentive programs.
