Central Java Police Chief warns officers against protecting gambling and drugs
Central Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Roy Hardi Siahaan, has issued a stern warning to his personnel against protecting or participating in illegal gambling and narcotics trafficking. During his first morning assembly, Siahaan emphasized that any officer found acting as a protector for these criminal activities will face severe disciplinary action, including dishonorable discharge.
Siahaan specifically instructed the criminal investigation unit to ensure that drug case handling is not 'transactional' and that officers do not seek personal profit from those facing legal proceedings. He also directed officers to take firm action against other public disturbances, such as street crime, vehicle theft, robbery, and brawls involving sharp weapons.
To improve public service, the Police Chief ordered the optimization of responsive services, including the 110 Call Center and proactive field responses to community reports.
