Central Java Police seize 24 kg meth, arrest 1,485 suspects in H1 2026

The Central Java Regional Police (Polda Jateng) reported that, between January and June 2026, it uncovered 1,201 drug‑related police reports and arrested 1,485 suspects. Operations across Semarang, Surakarta, Sukoharjo, Kebumen and Banyumas resulted in the seizure of 24.41 kg of methamphetamine (sabu‑sabu), 1.77 g of cocaine, 604.2 g of ecstasy pills, 980.91 g of synthetic liquid, 11.18 kg of cannabis, 5.83 kg of synthetic tobacco, 24,188 psychotropic pills and roughly 165.5 kg of other illicit substances, amounting to a total of about 215.81 kg of narcotics. Additional assets seized included 28 motorcycles, six cars, cash worth Rp9.45 million, and large quantities of illicit alcohol.

Police also highlighted a joint investigation on 28 June that recovered an extra 3.5 kg of methamphetamine. The economic value of the confiscated drugs was estimated at Rp27.1 billion. Authorities identified the five districts mentioned above as the province’s most vulnerable drug‑distribution zones and urged the public to report suspected activity.
