Central Java Provincial Sports Week 2026 underway

The 2026 Central Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) is currently being held, featuring various athletic competitions across the region.

In the diving sector, the Central Java Provincial Underwater Sports Association (Possi) is utilizing the event as a talent scouting platform. Moh Maretan, Chairman of Possi Central Java, stated that the competition serves to identify potential athletes for advanced training to prepare them for national and international championships. The association aims to focus on performance quality and improved timing records rather than just medal counts.

In Hapkido competitions held at the Kendal Sport Center, the Kendal Regency team has secured two silver and two bronze medals. Silver medals were earned by Sania Malik Kamala Anjani and Mellynda Vania Azzahra, while bronze medals were awarded to Mukhammad Yusuf and Pedrosa Jutava. Local officials noted that the athletes faced experienced competitors from Semarang, but expressed hope for gold medals in the remaining seven categories.
