Central Java schools receive Adiwiyata environmental status

In Central Java, 242 schools across high school, vocational, and special education levels have achieved Adiwiyata status, recognizing their commitment to maintaining healthy and clean environments. Heru Djatmiko, Head of the Central Java Provincial Environmental Agency, stated that this status is awarded to educational institutions that contribute to environmental preservation by integrating ecological education into their curricula and daily activities.

The program aims to foster environmental awareness among students and encourage active participation in eco-friendly initiatives. Looking ahead to 2026, officials expect approximately 79 more schools or madrasahs to participate in the selection process to further expand the culture of environmental care within the region.
