Central League players Sakamoto and Miner receive August awards

Several players in Japan's Central League have been recognized for their performances in August. Hanshin Tigers catcher Seishiro Sakamoto received the JERA Central League Award for August. Sakamoto earned the top prize with a unanimous vote from six league legends, following a month where he recorded seven home runs and 16 RBIs. Sakamoto attributed his improved hitting to insights gained from conversations with Giants infielder Hayato Sakamoto regarding hitting against left-handed pitchers.

In addition, Chunichi Dragons pitcher Kyle Miner was named the Taiju Life Monthly MVP for August. Miner demonstrated significant improvement during the month, posting a 0.84 ERA across five starts with a 3-1 record. Miner credited his success to improved understanding of his pitching repertoire and the support of his catchers.
