Central Macedonia allocates €14.2M for childcare and education
The Central Macedonia Region is allocating 14.2 million euros from the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESPA) to support 6,715 children for the 2026-2027 school year. The initiative, signed by Regional Governor Athena Aidona, aims to provide access to nursery, preschool, and kindergarten stations, as well as creative activity centers.
The program specifically targets the inclusion of children with disabilities and ensures access to extracurricular services for those whose needs may not be met by state funding. The initiative seeks to guarantee equal and inclusive access to quality education and care services for infants, toddlers, and school-aged children throughout the region.
