Central Macedonia prepares for new school year with focus on inclusion and student health

As the new school year begins in Central Macedonia, the Regional Director of Education has issued a message emphasizing inclusion, equal opportunities, and the collaborative role of students, teachers, and parents. The Director highlighted that schools should serve as safe and creative spaces where students are encouraged to pursue knowledge and life skills beyond mere academic grades.

In conjunction with the academic start, medical experts are highlighting the importance of preventive ear, nose, and throat (ENT) examinations for students. Otolaryngologist Minas N. Artopoulos noted that undiagnosed conditions, such as conductive hearing loss from middle ear fluid or breathing issues caused by enlarged adenoids, can directly impact a child's concentration, behavior, and academic performance. Early detection of these issues and seasonal allergies is recommended to ensure students can effectively engage with their learning environment.
