Central Park gunmen rob six people in cellphone mugging spree

Three armed individuals on bicycles conducted a series of cellphone muggings in Manhattan’s Central Park late Thursday night. The spree involved six victims across four separate incidents occurring along East Drive over approximately one hour.

The first robbery took place near East 79th Street, where a 28-year-old man was confronted by three males, one of whom displayed a firearm. About 50 minutes later, a 46-year-old man was robbed near East 109th Street. Shortly after, two additional robberies occurred near East 106th Street involving a 22-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman, and two 43-year-old men.

In all instances, the suspects used a firearm to threaten victims before fleeing east on bicycles. No injuries were reported. The NYPD is currently investigating to determine if all six robberies were committed by the same group of suspects.
