Central Puerto reports significant Q2 2026 earnings growth

Central Puerto reported significant growth in its second-quarter 2026 results, with adjusted EBITDA reaching $145.0 million. This represents a 20.1% increase from the first quarter and a 136.2% increase compared to the previous year. Total revenue rose to $453.3 million, an 82.3% sequential increase and a 165.8% year-over-year rise.

The company’s total generation for the quarter was 5,250 GWh, accounting for approximately 15% of Argentina’s grid generation. While output fell slightly from the first quarter, it increased 20.1% from the prior-year period. Stronger hydrology contributed to a 112.9% sequential increase in generation at Piedra del Águila.

CEO Fernando Bonnet noted that while self-procurement of fuel remains a key driver, the company’s ability to contract directly for local natural gas is currently limited by Plan Gas. Ar contracts. The company expects to continue procuring liquid fuels and liquefied natural gas into 2027, with the potential for increased local gas self-procurement as the Plan Gas. Ar program approaches its end in 2028.
