Central Statistical Organization launches Yemen electricity tariff survey training

The Central Statistical Organization (CSO) has launched a training workshop in Aden for team leaders and interviewers participating in a national electricity tariff survey in Yemen. The workshop, scheduled from August 22 to 25, 2026, is supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and funded by the World Bank.

Dr. Safaa Moati Al-Dor, President of the CSO, emphasized that the survey aims to provide reliable, modern data regarding the reality of electricity services in Yemen. This includes assessing service availability, quality, consumption patterns, and household spending. The data is intended to support decision-making and the development of policies for the electricity sector amidst difficult economic and living conditions.

The survey will utilize the World Bank-approved Survey Solutions platform to collect information on household access to electricity, service reliability, energy sources, and preferences regarding meters and providers. The training focuses on standardizing methodologies and data collection mechanisms to ensure high-quality statistical results.
