Central University Library Carol I hosts festival and royal history exhibition

The Central University Library Carol I in Bucharest hosted the 15th edition of the ‘Strada de C’Arte’ festival, attracting approximately 2,000 visitors. The five-day event featured diverse programming, including live music, poetry, fire performances, and equestrian demonstrations. Educational components included a debate for high school students regarding digital literacy and the identification of fake news.

Alongside the festival, an exhibition titled ‘The Royal Family’s Contributions to the Founding and Expansion of the Carol I University Foundation’ was opened. Developed by the National Archives of Romania in collaboration with the library, the exhibition showcases documents spanning 135 years of the institution's history. Featured items include architect Paul Gottereau’s original construction plans, the inauguration act, and King Carol I’s will. The collection highlights the royal family's historical role in supporting Romanian culture and higher education.
