Centre del Carme presents live‑scored Harold Lloyd classic in Valencia
The Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània (CCCC) in Valencia will screen the 1923 silent film "Safety Last!" – known in Spain as "El hombre mosca" – on Saturday 8 August. Valencian artist Dr. Truna (Andrés Blasco) will provide a live musical accompaniment as part of the CCCCinema d’Estiu summer cinema series.
The screening belongs to the second week of the "Embriagados de Humor. América y la comedia" programme, which also showcases comedies from Mexico, Peru, Cuba and the United States, including two films never before distributed commercially in Spain: the Mexican "Mátenme porque me muero" (1951) and the American "Dim Sum: A Little Bit of Heart" (1985). The series runs nightly in August at 22:00 in the gothic cloister, with free admission.
