Centre Maimó Ben Faraig reopens in Palma
The Centre Maimó Ben Faraig in Palma has officially reopened after two years of inactivity. Located on Almudaina Street, the municipal space is dedicated to the study and dissemination of Jewish history, art, and culture in Mallorca.
The reopening coincides with the European Jewish Culture Days, an event organized by the Ledor Vador Foundation and the Jewish Community of the Balearic Islands with support from the Palma City Council. The program, which runs from September through December, aims to highlight the historical and cultural legacy of the Jewish community as a fundamental part of the island's evolution.
Scheduled activities include a concert by Sephardic singer Jasmine Petrovic, a historical tour of the Call Jueu of Palma, and a conference featuring former French Prime Minister Manuel Valls. Other planned events include appearances by writer Dory Sontheimer, sociologist Alejandro Baer Mieses, and analyst Pilar Rahola.
