The Centre-Val de Loire region in France experienced extreme temperature anomalies during August 2026. The month was characterized by a significant heatwave, following an exceptionally hot July. In Bourges, the average monthly temperature reached 24.5°C, marking the second-highest August on record, with peak temperatures hitting 40.0°C on August 13. Similar trends were observed in Avord and Châteauroux-Déols, where temperatures also reached near 40°C.

Looking ahead to early September, weather forecasts indicate a potential return of heat. While the beginning of the week may see variable weather with clouds and localized showers, temperatures are expected to rise toward the end of the week, with a possible peak in heat as the month begins.
