Centro Nacional de las Artes hosts first arts against violence forum
The Centro Nacional de las Artes (Cenart), an institution of Mexico's Secretariat of Culture, is hosting the first 'Encuentro de Artes contra las Violencias: Educación y proyectos comunitarios' (Arts against Violence Meeting: Education and Community Projects).
The event aims to connect artists, educators, cultural collectives, academics, activists, and community agents to explore how artistic and pedagogical practices can address contemporary social challenges. The forum focuses on the question of how arts education can contribute to peacebuilding through community projects.
Scheduled for October 15 at the Aula Magna José Vasconcelos and the Plaza de las Artes in Mexico City, the meeting seeks to strengthen cultural policy strategies that support local inclusion and community well-being in areas where violence threatens peaceful coexistence.
