Centro Pop assists 70 homeless people daily in Feira de Santana

The Centro Pop specialized reference center in Feira de Santana is currently providing services to approximately 50 to 70 people experiencing homelessness every day. Since its inauguration, the center has assisted roughly 9,000 individuals, including 1,300 who were successfully registered for the Bolsa Família program.

Coordinator Marina Nogueira noted that while concentrations of people in need are high near the Bus Terminal, the Commercial Center, and Praça da Matriz, the center works to provide essential services such as document regularization, civil registration, labor cards, and assistance with social rent or transit costs. Nogueira has called for greater public empathy, noting that social assistance efforts to reintegrate individuals into society are long-term processes.
