Centro Valle Intelvi implements nighttime alcohol restrictions
The Mayor of Centro Valle Intelvi has issued an ordinance restricting the sale and consumption of alcohol and the use of outdoor seating areas from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through Thursday. The restrictions target specific zones in San Fedele and Castiglione d’Intelvi, including areas near Piazza Giovanbattista Carminati, Via Blessagno, and Via alla Chiesa. Violators face fines ranging from 500 to 5,000 euros.
The measure has sparked significant local opposition, including protests featuring hundreds of posters and banners. Critics argue the ban unfairly penalizes local businesses and workers rather than addressing nightlife issues. The political movement Patto per il Nord has expressed solidarity with merchants and residents, stating the restrictions risk harming the local economy during a crucial period and depriving citizens of the right to enjoy the territory.
