DEAG appoints Markus Breitenecker as Chairman

DEAG Deutsche Entertainment AG has announced a leadership transition. Markus Breitenecker will join the Executive Board on November 1, 2026, and will simultaneously acquire a shareholding in the company.

Breitenecker will succeed Detlef Kornett as Chairman of the Executive Board following the expiration of Kornett’s contract at the end of 2026. Kornett has served on the board for thirteen years, most recently as Co-CEO since 2023 and Chairman since 2024. Under his leadership, the group achieved a record revenue of approximately EUR 490 million in the 2025 financial year.

Breitenecker, a former Chief Operating Officer at ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, is expected to focus on driving international growth and expanding the group’s market position across new and existing business areas.
