Century Communities acquires HistoryMaker Homes to expand Dallas-Fort Worth presence
Century Communities has acquired the assets of HistoryMaker Homes, a long-standing Texas-based production homebuilder. The deal significantly expands Century Communities’ presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, which is the largest new home market in the United States.
Through this acquisition, Century Communities will triple its community count in the region and gain access to a substantial pipeline of lots and local operating talent. HistoryMaker Homes, founded in 1949 and led by fifth-generation executive Nelson Mitchell, has operated exclusively in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for over 75 years.
The transaction highlights a broader industry trend where large, publicly traded homebuilders are acquiring established private players to achieve the scale and concentrated market presence necessary to compete in high-demand regions.
