Century teen transferred to adult court for fatal Showalter Park shooting

A 16-year-old from Century, Florida, has been ordered to be transferred from juvenile custody to adult court following a fatal shooting at Showalter Park. Keyunta Iveon Ewing, also known as ‘Baby K’, is charged with first-degree felony murder without premeditation.

The incident occurred on August 13, resulting in the death of Adarius Da’Shun Odom, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and neck. Another individual, Da’Quan Johnson, was also injured in the shooting. During court proceedings, Ewing claimed self-defense, asserting that the victim was about to shoot someone else when the gunfire began.

Ewing is currently being held without bond pending a formal arraignment scheduled for September 11.
