CEO charged with RM1.65 million durian orchard fraud

Chan Huann Heng, 58, a CEO of a fruit and vegetable wholesaler, importer, and exporter, has been charged in the Shah Alam sessions court for allegedly cheating a businessman of RM1.65 million. The charge relates to a deal intended for the purchase of a durian orchard in Raub, Pahang, approximately two years ago.

According to the prosecution, Chan dishonestly induced Lim Siow Jin, the 66-year-old director and chairman of DXN Industries (M) Sdn Bhd, to transfer RM1.65 million to the bank account of Topone Solution Sdn Bhd. The transaction was reportedly facilitated through an invoice issued by Topone Solution, misrepresenting that the funds were for the orchard purchase. The incident allegedly occurred on February 5, 2024, at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort.

Chan pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of one to 10 years imprisonment, whipping, and a fine. Judge Dazuki Ali granted bail of RM80,000 with one surety. The case is scheduled for mention on November 30.
