CEOE CEPYME Cuenca calls for administrative simplification

The Confederation of Employers of Cuenca (CEOE CEPYME Cuenca) is advocating for greater administrative simplification to support business growth and competitiveness. The organization notes that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) frequently divert significant resources toward bureaucratic procedures, which could otherwise be invested in employment or expansion.

In addition to administrative burdens, the group highlighted concerns regarding rising costs and the complexity of complying with European directives. CEPYME president Ángela de Miguel noted that many public policies derived from EU guidelines are often designed without considering the organizational capacity or resources of SMEs. This can lead to an accumulation of compliance costs related to sustainability, carbon footprints, and corporate reporting.

Separately, the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy has completed the transposition of a European Union directive regarding employment information. Companies are now required to provide workers with written information concerning essential contract elements and working conditions prior to the start of the employment relationship. This information must be provided in paper or electronic format, and employers must retain proof of transmission.
