CEOE CEPYME Cuenca hosts seminar on new packaging regulations

The Confederation of Employers of Cuenca (CEOE CEPYME Cuenca) organized an online seminar titled ‘Circular Economy and Business Management: Keys to the New Packaging Regulations’ to assist local businesses with recent legal changes.

Approximately eighty entrepreneurs attended the session, which focused on compliance requirements that became mandatory in August 2026. The event was held in collaboration with the Regional Confederation of Employers of Castilla-La Mancha (CECAM) as part of the implementation of the Circular Economy Strategy of Castilla-La Mancha.

Participants discussed European Regulation 2025/40 and Royal Decree 1055/2022 regarding packaging and packaging waste. The session included representatives from Cartón Circular, a Collective System of Extended Producer Responsibility (SCRAP) designed to manage industrial packaging regardless of material. The seminar clarified definitions and responsibilities for manufacturers, importers, distributors, and end users within the supply chain.
