Dance companies in Ecuador, Mexico, and Chile announce new works and tours

Various dance institutions are marking significant milestones and upcoming performances. The Compañía Nacional de Danza del Ecuador will embark on an international tour of Spain from September 27 to October 5, 2026. The tour features the premiere of ‘Sala de desórdenes’, a new choreographic creation directed by Jorge Alcolea.

In Mexico, the Centro de Producción de Danza Contemporánea (CEPRODAC) is celebrating its 15th anniversary. A gala event will be held on October 3 at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, featuring two new choreographies: ‘Doce pasos’ by Francisco Aviña and ‘Magnolias en el desierto’ by Luis Ortega.

In Chile, the company Kalül Butoh Experimental will premiere ‘Alfonso, un pájaro en la memoria’ in October. Directed by Angélica Jara, the work integrates the poetry of Alfonso Alcalde with ancestral butoh and will have performances in Concepción, Tomé, and Biobío.
