Ceramic art experiences emerge in Lisbon

Creative ceramic experiences are gaining popularity in Lisbon, offering residents and visitors opportunities to combine art with leisure.

Tágide Wine & Gastrobar hosts ‘Ceramic by Night’ events, where participants can paint pre-made ceramic pieces, such as sardines or mugs, while enjoying a multi-course meal. Led by ceramicist Suzana Barros de Brito, the experience is designed to be relaxed and accessible to those without prior artistic experience, allowing the dining process to serve as a natural pause between painting stages.

In the Alcântara district, Pura Cerâmica offers a similar concept focused on accessibility. Founded by Creici Spanner, the studio allows individuals to choose bisque-fired pieces and decorate them with paint. The studio manages the glazing and final firing process to complete the works. Spanner, who brought the concept from Germany, noted a strong cultural connection to pottery and tile painting in Portugal, aiming to provide a relaxed way for people to engage with the medium.
