Ceramic festivals held in Manises and Ponferrada

Various ceramic festivals are taking place in Spain, highlighting traditional and contemporary pottery techniques.

In Manises, the fifth edition of ‘El Turno del Torno’ is scheduled for October 23–25, 2026. Organized by the Asociación Nacional de Profesionales de Cerámica (ANPEC) in collaboration with the Manises City Council, the international event will feature masterclasses, live demonstrations, and exhibitions. Featured artists include Turkish specialist Metin Ertürk, Barcelona-based Jan Madrenas, and local restorer Conxa Arjona.

Meanwhile, Ponferrada is hosting the 15th Ceramic Fair as part of the Fiestas de la Encina. The fair includes 28 exhibitors from Spain and Portugal. A notable highlight is the ‘Embarrarte’ workshop, which features Canarian artisans Aquilino Rodríguez Santana and Hirahi Rodríguez. They will demonstrate traditional Guanche techniques using volcanic pastes, collaborating with sculptor Amancio González to create works inspired by Canarian idols.
