Ceramicist Németh János Memorial Exhibition Opens in Zalaegerszeg

Renowned Hungarian ceramicist Németh János, a Kossuth‑ and Munkácsy‑award winner and National Artist, died on 22 June 2026 at age 92. To honor his legacy, the Göcseji Museum in Zalaegerszeg will host a permanent‑exhibition tribute titled “Agyag életre álmodója” (The Dreamer of Clay). The opening ceremony is scheduled for 2 September 2026 at 16:30, with tickets priced at 1 800 Ft (1 440 Ft for Zalaegerszeg cardholders). Dr. Kostyál László, the museum’s scientific director, will introduce the artist’s work, highlighting his influence on contemporary Hungarian ceramics and his role in preserving traditional techniques.
