Cersaie 2026 showcases ceramic design innovations and industry awards
The Cersaie 2026 international trade fair in Bologna, Italy, showcased significant advancements and recognition within the ceramic and bathroom furnishing industry.
VitrA Tiles introduced its “The Code” concept, driven by a “Material Intelligence” approach. This initiative features three distinct design languages: Resincode, inspired by natural concrete; Geocode, referencing stone such as limestone and marble; and Metacode, which replicates the appearance of patinated metals like gold, iron, and copper. The brand also presented new technologies, including V-Flex, a glue-free ceramic tile installation solution.
The event featured the Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition, which recognized global architectural excellence using Italian ceramic surfaces. Notable winners included the “Spoonbill” residential project in Florida. Additionally, Ceramica Flaminia’s “Hasu” washbasin collection won the Adi Cersaie Design Award 2026 for its ability to combine organic inspiration with technical complexity.
Industry trends highlighted at the fair include a shift toward 3D textured surfaces and an “Earth & Mineral” color palette. The fair also emphasized professional training through a dedicated pavilion for tile installation techniques and technology, including the use of augmented and virtual reality in the sector.
