Cerchiara di Calabria holds spiritual gathering with Eparch Donato Oliverio

On Tuesday 11 August at 10:00, the Santuario della Madonna delle Armi in Cerchiara di Calabria hosted a spiritual gathering organized by engineer Nicola Barone, President of Tim San Marino and special envoy of the Republic of Titan. The event featured a Mass celebrated by the Eparch of Lungro, Monsignor Donato Oliverio, followed by a presentation on Pope Leo XIV’s new encyclical *Magnifica Humanitas*. The discussion was moderated by journalist Franco Maurella and attended by local officials including mayor Giuseppe Ramundo and professor Sandra Francomano, president of the sanctuary’s foundation.

Barone, who recently met the Pope and presented his book *Una vita da Presidente*, also spoke. The sanctuary, situated at about 1,000 m altitude, takes its name from the Greek word for caves and traces its origins to a 10th‑century Byzantine monastery dedicated to St Andrew. Local tradition links the site to a 15th‑century Marian devotion that began after a hunting party discovered icons in a cave.
