Cercle Allocation Services billed UCLA $765 per fetal organ

New documents obtained via a California Public Records Act request by The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) reveal that Cercle Allocation Services, Inc. charged the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) $765 per fetal body part.

Purchase orders from August and September 2023 show UCLA paid a total of $16,065 for 21 parts, specifically 14 livers and 7 thymus glands. The records indicate that Cercle requested revisions to the purchase orders to remove sales tax, framing the transactions as fees for “procurement services” rather than the sale of “items.” An account manager for Cercle noted that using terminology implying the sale of items could suggest the sale of illegal goods.

Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel criticized the findings, describing the practice as profit-driven harvesting. The CMP, led by David Daleiden, has previously investigated the abortion industry's handling of fetal tissue.
