Cercle Brugge signs Nigerian winger Tunde Akinsola

Cercle Brugge has completed the permanent signing of Nigerian winger Tunde Akinsola from Portuguese club AVS Futebol SAD. The 23-year-old has signed a contract through June 2030, which includes an option for an additional year.

Akinsola joins the Belgian Pro League side following AVS Futebol SAD’s relegation to the Portuguese second tier. During his tenure in Portugal, he made 91 appearances, contributing eight goals and seven assists. Technical director Luciano Murchio noted that Akinsola’s versatility and ability to play across several attacking positions make him a strong fit for the club’s style of play.

Despite interest from clubs in England, France, and Italy, Akinsola chose the move to Belgium. Manji Jpahhet, an official from Akinsola’s former academy, Valiant FC, stated that Belgium was viewed as the best destination for the player’s long-term development and stability.
