Spain sees diverse social protests and cultural festivals

Various cultural, charitable, and social movements are active across Spain. In Santander and Santiago de Compostela, housing activists are maintaining encampments to protest the housing crisis and demand legislative changes, with some movements planning to extend their actions toward a general strike.

Charitable events include a solidarity lunch in Alcalá de Guadaíra to benefit the Spanish Association Against Cancer and a folk music gala in Guadalajara to support Alzheimer's families. Cultural programming is also widespread, featuring the III Copla Festival in Córdoba, the "Sueño en Flamenco" show in Asturias, and the "Luz de Sala" theater festival in Saladillo.

Additionally, the Auditorio de Tenerife has announced its 2026-2027 theater season featuring Ibero-American works, while the Blues Festival in Cerdanyola has rescheduled postponed concerts. In Avilés, local authorities are launching a series of free family theater performances in various neighborhoods.
